I think I've reached a good balance of cross-browser usability and portfolio effectiveness. I'm at 7 hours and 43 minutes so far...it doesn't feel like I've been at it that long, but I guess that's because I count any time after midnight towards the next day (to discourage me from staying up too late), so last night's VERY late coding session gave today's productivity total a good boost.
I'm really glad with myself...in learning to code, this process of self-teaching, of self-discipline, I've become a better person.
That's kind of random, but it's real. I'm much more accountable to myself than before, and I've rid myself of several unproductive habits (reading news and binge-watching Netflix, for example), and replaced them with a solid pace of productivity.
And I'm enjoying myself while doing this, too. I've come to embrace the struggle, the challenges. Before I might have said, "okay, I'll study four hours then go socialize a bit," and now I don't even think of that, I just embrace the challenge of coding and I don't feel as if I'm missing out on anything else when I'm coding, instead, I feel like I'm doing exactly what I should be doing.
And perhaps.
Just perhaps...it's the other folks who are missing out. :)
I racked up over 50 hours of coding this week, and I had a 2 hour day on one of those days, and I still have the rest of today left:
Good stuff (it says up 1000% because I deleted most of my productivity data from the last two months a week ago, so it's comparing this week to the zero data in the system from last week).
Check out the new line I added at the bottom of my blog posts:

Woohoo!
All right, it's time to go for a walk, I've been sitting for too long.
All right, I worked a bit more on the resume and on the "About" section of the site, and I can say that I'm done for now.
Now comes the part where I have to decide what to study next. I could jump right into Node, I could read a book I have that I haven't read yet on jQuery, I could start on React...
I'm thinking React is the way to go, but let me do some research and then I'll make the call.
So, tomorrow is the next meeting I'm hosting for Free Code Camp - Austin, my meetup group, and I'm feeling pretty good about it. I always try to have new stuff to show the guys and gals that attend, to bring value to the table, and this week I've got plenty of subjects to cover. I've got my portfolio deployed now, so I can go over Bootstrap with them and show them how it works, I can also go over why it's important to make good notes, and I can also go over what the next steps could be, since I'm about to take them myself.
It'll be a fun evening tomorrow.
