So, I went back to my Photoshop skills, targeted the notebook and added some shade to it, to increase the contrast. Here's the before, it's fine, but it could be better:
And here's the after (note the increased shade on the notebook in the upper left, it's a subtle addition, but it's there).
Much better. Those screenshots are from a PC, because I keep a newer PC around to do cross-browser testing (for testing IE, Opera, Firefox, and Chrome on a PC). The site actually looked fine on the Mac browsers, but when I tested it on IE, I felt there wasn't enough contrast, so this helps.
It actually looks much better live than in the screenshot, if you click on the screenshot, the window that opens up is a better representation of the actual look.
I darkened it a little bit more and smoothed out the edges, just to finish that up.
Now the contrast is much better. Good stuff.
I finished the modal window for the "Contact" section, I kept this section very simple:
Cool.
I'll have to get my CodePen projects up to GitHub sometime soon, I'll make a day of it. I'm actually really enjoying working in a local environment, as opposed to CodePen. Now, CodePen's great, but working in a local environment has its benefits too, there's no lag, ever, any updates you make are instantaneous. Also, it's better practice for the actual working environment, which is most definitely not on CodePen, an actual work environment will require meta tags and links to many other files.
I went through my portfolio pieces again, this time I cleaned up the HTML a bit. I'll have to go back and leave good notes on the JavaScript code sometime soon, since at the time I coded many of the projects, I wasn't as aware as I am now about how important notes are.
All right, it's time to deploy the site so I can get it critiqued.
I stayed up quite late. BUT, it's done, it's at www.adamcamacho.com:
Sweet!
Now I've got to think tomorrow about what comes next. I'll also see if I can get some critique on it, just in case I missed anything.
